Chris appeared on This Morning via live video link, which had a slight delay, from a London hotel.
However, things got off to a bumpy start when Ruth Langsford was quick to say how she would’ve preferred him to be in the studio.
Not long after, Eamonn Holmes told the Thor star that Ruth wanted to “see [his] hammer”.
“How are you in your lovely hotel down the road?” Ruth asked as Chris said he was good.

Ruth didn’t waste any time in letting him know how she really felt about the interview arrangement as she declared: “We’d prefer it if you were here, to be honest.”
Eamonn chimed in to add: “Ruth was looking forward to seeing your hammer.”
After a moment, Chris laughed: “It’s been destroyed, in the last movie.”
Those watching at home took to Twitter to comment on the “awkward” interview.
“Oh f*** this is cringey already “Ruth wanted to see your hammer” #ThisMorning,” one shared.
Another opined: “Bit of an awkward start to the interview…#ThisMorning.”
“Honestly these f*****g video links are horrific….he’s a few yards down the street for goodness sake….be less of a delay if they sent a pigeon back and forth #ThisMorning,” a third vented.
A fourth exclaimed: “Jesus Christ this is so cringe and the delay makes it worse! #ThisMorning.”
“How awkward is this Chris Hemsworth interview! #ThisMorning #ChrisHemsworth,” a fifth wrote.
A sixth stated: “’Ruth wanted to see your hammer’ So unprofessional, sexist and unecessary. Imagine if it was the other way around!”
There was also another awkward moment later on in the interview as Eamonn tried to introduce an Instagram video.
Eamonn said how Chris had over 26 million Instagram followers before noting he was seen being quite the prankster in a recent video.
However, Eamonn paused to wait for the video to come onto screen but it wasn’t appearing.
“Do we not have it?” he asked.
Luckily the clip then flashed up to show Chris defacing the posters of his Avengers: Endgame co-stars.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.
