I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! bosses have been having talks about casting Holby City actress Rosie Marcel in an upcoming series.
The 41-year-old, who plays Jac Naylor in the BBC One soap, revealed the news to the Loose Women panel, as her friend Chizzy Akudolu revealed she’s set to return to the soap very soon.
Asked if she would be interested in heading to the jungle, Rosie said: “I have, I’ve been… I’ve had a couple of meetings. I have spoken to them, it is something I would love to do actually. I think for me it would be an amazing challenge.”
When they pushed her on when she would enter the jungle, she added: “I don’t know. Who knows?”
Well, we’re sure she knows, but she’s keeping quiet about it for now.
Aside from choosing the showbiz line up, I’m A Celebrity is also on the hunt for a co-host to work alongside Declan Donnelly following his friend Ant McPartlin cancelling all of his work commitments until early next year, while he continues his recovery from his addiction to alcohol and prescription painkillers.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Joel Dommett, the host of I’m A Celeb’s spin-off Extra Camp was cagey about the idea of taking on the huge job of filling Ant’s shoes.
ITV Director of Television Kevin Lygo said: “ITV is completely supportive of Ant taking as much time as he needs in his recovery and of this mutual decision to rest Takeaway in 2019.
“Ant is clearly making good progress and we wish him all the very best and look forward to him returning to ITV next year. An announcement on I’m a Celebrity plans will be made in due course.”
Dommett also added that he’d love to see Love Island contestants head for the jungle and spoke out about co-host Scarlett Moffatt who has suffered “horrendous” abuse online.
We’ve rounded up all of the people most likely people to take over presenting duties with Dec, along with all of the celebrities who could appear alongside Rosie (maybe).
Loose Women continues weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV. I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! will begin in late 2018.
