Former Strictly Come Dancing star HRVY has spoken out about the dance show’s apparent “curse” and has insisted it is “real.”
Over the years, the so-called curse has made headlines as professional Strictly dancers and celebrities put their personal relationships to the test as they grow closer to their partners.
So much so, that some celebs have even broken up with their current partners following their time on the competition.

Despite all the sequins, sparkles and sambas, the glitzy BBC One show has been linked to 14 splits over the course of 20 series.
And now, former Strictly star HRVY, 24, who appeared in the 2020 series, has spoken out about the famous curse.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, the singer said: “I know it's real. I'm not going to say any more than that, but as someone who's done the show – I'm not saying that I've experienced it first hand myself – but I may have seen… It's definitely a real thing.”
He continued: “People talk about it and it's like a bantering thing and I thought the same thing until I did it and then was like, 'Wow, yeah'.”
HRVY then compared the intensity of Strictly to ITV2 reality series Love Island.
He went on: “You could almost say it's like Love Island but you're not on an island, you're in a dance studio but it's definitely real.”
HRVY was partnered up with pro dancer Janette Manrara on the show and reached fourth place.
It comes after HRVY revealed he spent over a week in prison sharing a cell with a criminal for a new documentary.

HRVY told Daily Star: "I go to a prison, and I live in a prison environment for like eight days, it’s the maddest thing that I have ever done in my life.
"It was like Love Island, Big Brother style cameras and filming, but in a prison.
“It was 24 hours a day filming, the weird thing was it was a social experiment documentary but it has that reality TV format with the cameras and I am not used to any of that stuff, I have never done anything like that, so it was weird to have cameras on me 24/7.
“But I was in a cell, and I mean we are talking like one toilet in a cell, and I was sharing a cell with convicted contract killers, this is mad stuff."
