Hollyoaks star Kieron Richardson has dedicated a heartwarming tribute to Phillip Schofield where he confessed the This Morning host helped him come out over a decade ago.
Earlier this week, Schofe took to the breakfast show in an emotional episode where he bravely told viewers at home that he was gay.
And while being showered with love from both fans and A-listers alike, Kieron also joined in the celebration by sharing his story with fans.
Taking to Instagram, the 34-year-old uploaded a picture of himself sat on This Morning’s iconic sofa with both Phil and Holly Willoughby.
In the caption, he explained how it was the first time he’d opened up about his sexuality, and praised the hosts for their support.
The actor wrote: ‘Phillip and Holly were the first people I told on @thismorning 10 years ago…
‘Letting me be brave and honest and confronting my truth… It was the best thing I did and have nothing but love and respect for him today ALL hail Schofe!!!!!’
Fans rushed to the comments section where they told the duo just how courageous they’ve both been.
‘He’s been so brave! It’s so scary facing your truth like that, not knowing what the world or your loved ones will think,’ one wrote while another added: ‘Must have been hard, and can only imagine what Phillip is going through.’
Someone else said: ‘I literally thought about this moment as @schofe was brave to be true to himself. It can’t be an easy thing to do but especially being in the public eye.’
And it seems others were well in agreement: ‘Aww bless you @mrkieronrichardson I remember that, how brave of Philip to open up. He’s such an amazing man.’
Phil spoke his truth just yesterday with Holly by his side, after making a defiant statement on his social media.
Speaking to his co-star about his wife Steph, a tearful Phil said: ‘This is not something that’s happened quickly. I’ve had to deal with this in my head for quite some time.
‘We’ve gone through this together, we’ve been honest and we’ve been open, and Steph, as I said… I can’t write in any statement what I feel about that woman.
‘She is amazing. She’s incredible. There is no one in my life who would have supported me, as a wife, the way she’s supported me. She’s astonishing, literally astonishing.’
Phil married Stephanie Lowe in 1993, and they are parents to Molly, 27, and Ruby, 24, who have since thrown their support behind their dad.
