Glee: Rachel Berry star Lea Michele reunites with co-stars for special project

Glee fans will know Lea Michele for her role of Rachel Berry, the main character that jumped onto screens telling everyone who would listen she was destined for stardom. However, the star has now taken on a brand new project.

The star has swapped acting for singing as she gears up for the release of her first ever christmas album.

In an interview with People, the Rachel Berry star revealed she would be dropping the holiday album in October.

Moreover, it seems fans will be reminded of Rachel as the album, titled Christmas in the City, will have a lot of ties to her breakout days performing on Glee.

The star will be bringing two of her former costars onto the record as well as special duets.

Jonathan Groff, who played Jesse in the Fox hit will be joining the actress in a duet.

the stars will be performing “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.”

Lea told the publication: “Jonathan is my best friend in the entire world, and the song we’re singing on the record, ‘I’ll Be Home for Christmas,’ we’ve been singing together for over 10 years,”

“We would often have to do Christmas benefits and stuff like that in New York so that song in particular has very special meaning to us.”

Blaine star Darren Criss also will be joining her on the record, singing White Christmas.

Lea went on: “Darren and I are dear friends so it was only natural that I would have him come on the record with me.”

The star is also reuniting with her music producers from Glee, Adam and Alex Anders to help her with the new album.

Of the collaboration, Lea said: “If you don’t know the Anders brothers, they did every single one of the over 800 songs we did on Glee,”

“It was very important to me that we reunited for this record. I wanted to bring back that sound from Glee — that very vibrant and bright and powerful sound that we created.”

Meanwhile, Lea’s co-star Naya Rivera, who played Santana has opened up about a fight between Santana Lopez and Quinn Fabray. 

Speaking on Glee stars Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz’s podcast, the star spoke out about it alongside Britney star Heather Morris.

The foursome reminisced about their “worst” moments on the show in a game that saw the stars guess each other’s answers.

When asked “What is your partner’s least favourite messy moment?”, fellow glee star Heather Morris recalled her co-star’s reaction to filming the fight scene.

Heather said: “When Santana and Quinn get in a fight outside the lockers because I remember you actually got hurt from it and I remember you were very upset.”

Naya responded: “Oh I got scratched, she really thought we were fighting… No no no no don’t touch the face.”
