Russell Crowe is giving his all for his characteer as Roger Ailes in Showtime’s new limited series. Fans are given a sneak peek at his take on the late former Fox News chief through a first-look photo coming from PEOPLE.

In the photo, the Oscar-winning actor’s Ailes are seen in a black suit and red polka-dotted tie. The actor can be seen leaning on a cane while holding a pair of glasses in one of his hands.

The “Gladiator” actor looks barely recognizable as he gets rid of his grizzled nature. Adding to his uncanny resemblance to the media figure is Crowe’s bald head.

The upcoming biopic will follow the late former Fox News chief, who abruptly left his position in the wake of several sexual harassment back in 2016. He died 10 months later on May 10, 2017 after falling and hitting his head in his bathroom. Ailes was 77.

The new show will have Gabriel Sherman’s best-selling book “The Loudest Voice in the Room”, for which he interviewed more than 600 people, as the base. It is set to explore the defining events throughout Ailes’ life, told through multiple points of view.

Joining Crowe on the series are Naomi Watts as Gretchen Carlson, Sienna Miller as Beth Ailes, Seth MacFarlane as Brian Lewis, Simon McBurney as Rupert Murdoch and Annabelle Wallis as Laurie Luhn.

Showtime announced the project back in June. “To understand the events that led to the rise of Donald Trump, one must understand Ailes,” the network said in a statement. “The upcoming limited series takes on that challenge, focusing primarily on the past decade in which Ailes arguably became the Republican Party’s de facto leader, while flashing back to defining events in Ailes’ life, including an initial meeting with Richard Nixon on the set of The Mike Douglas Show that gave birth to Ailes’ political career and the sexual harassment accusations and settlements that brought his Fox News reign to an end.”

The Showtime series won’t be the only one chronicling Ailes’ story. Jay Roach is developing a movie of the media figure with John Lithgow taking on the character.

The show, still untitled, is slated for a 2019 premiere.
