Ewan McGregor’s estranged wife Eve Mavrakis has denied they have fallen out over support payments

Eve Mavrakis, 52, spoke out after court documents showed the actor – worth £34million – had claimed he was paying too much to support her and their four daughters.

The couple are divorcing after McGregor, 47, fell for his 33-year-old co-star Mary Elizabeth Winstead while filming TV show Fargo last year.

Speaking from the LA home she used to share with the Trainspotting star, Eve revealed she had no idea they were involved in a court fight over cash.
She said: “I did not know these had been filed. We are good right now. We are not fighting over money – we are not fighting over anything. It must be the lawyers. We are very amicable right now.”

In court documents lodged this week, Scot McGregor said he had been “voluntarily contributing to the living expenses” of Eve and kids Clara, 22, Jamyan, 16, Esther, 16, and Anouk, seven.

Hours after The Sun On Sunday approached a surprised Eve about the court papers, she retweeted a cryptic message on Instagram about women being “far superior” to men. She put underneath the message: “Nothing to add.”

Ewan and French production designer Eve split last summer after 22 years of marriage after he met actress Winstead and fell in love.

The Sun On Sunday pictured McGregor snogging the young starlet in a London café last October. She had also split from her husband, childhood sweatheart Riley Stearns, months previously.

The break-up has been difficult for the whole family, with eldest daughter Clara labelling her dad's new love “trash” on Instagram in July.

She later acknowledged she regretted her comment, adding: “It wasn't the most mature way to go about things, but I was angry and upset.”

McGregor started divorce proceedings against Eve in January, requesting joint custody of their three youngest kids.

At the time, Eve told The Sun On Sunday that the divorce was “disappointing and upsetting”, but that her main priority was being there for their children.
