Emmerdale's serial killer Thomas Atkinson says old ladies grope him on the bum and tell him he's a 'naughty boy' when he's out shopping in Manchester

The star – who plays serial killer Lachlan White on the ITV show – has revealed elderly women grope his bum and tell him he's a "naughty boy" when he's out shopping.

Thomas, 19, opened up during an interview on this morning's Good Morning Britain.

He said: "Old ladies sometime touch my bum and say 'you're a naughty boy aren't you' as I walk through the Trafford Centre."

He also insisted he never gets abuse from fans, as most people are pretty cordial when he steps out in public.

Thomas – whose Emmerdale character has murdered his mum, grandfather, best friend and "fake" uncle Terry – has previously admitted he loves playing such a dark role – and he wants Lachlan to get darker.

He said: "He's going to get a lot darker, which some of the audience might not like but for me it's fun anyway.

"It's going to be quite interesting.

"It's a bit weird but yeah I think I would [like Lachlan to kill again].

"For me as an actor it's interesting to do, so how can I not want that?"

Speaking about Lachlan's previous murders, Thomas explained: "I think Lachlan tries to justify his actions, so everything he's done so far has been for his relationship with Belle.

"I wouldn't necessarily say he thinks he's a psychopath, because he's justifying it in his head. I don't think he thinks he's a psychopath at all."

Meanwhile, Lachlan's aunt, Rebecca White, continues to languish.

She is currently chained up in a cabin after discovering Lachlan's killer secret.
