Leyla Harding (played by Roxy Shahidi) and Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) got their relationship back on track recently after a rocky few weeks. But during the most recent episode of Emmerdale, the doctor spoke about an ex-partner. Having reminisced about previous happy memories, will Liam have doubts about his current marriage and seek advice from the person from his past?
Spotting Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) outside, Liam joined her and asked: “How’s the pregnancy going?”
“Well, I mean, I feel as big as a house,” the mother-to-be replied.
“But it’s not uncomfortable though?” He continued and Gabby said: “No, not yet. Oh the heartburn though – especially at night.”
“Try an extra pillow and eat nothing after six o’clock,” Liam suggested. “Sorry, defaulted into doctor mode, I’m sure you know all of this anyway.”
Silence fell between the two of them and Gabby asked: “So, how are you?”
“Struggling,” he honestly admitted. “Trying to make sense of it all and there’s really no sense to be had.”
“I still can’t believe it,” Gabby remarked and Liam continued: “No, me too.
“There’s a moment when I wake up, a second – half a second – when I forgot that it’s happened. And then I remember all over again.”
Conversation then turned to Jamie Tate (Alexander Lincoln) moving back into the big house where Gabby was living.
Liam wondered: “How does your mum feel about Jamie?”
“Well, you know what mum’s like,” Gabby remarked and the doctor replied: “Yes, I do.
“You know sometimes I miss your mum’s madness. Not that Bernice is mad, of course.”
“Well, she’s definitely one of a kind,” Gabby commented.
“Yes! She has a somewhat refreshing take on life,” Liam said. “I wonder what this one’s going to be like,” and Gabby prayed: “Good sleeper I hope.”
Having mentioned Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) several times in the past few weeks, is Liam wondering whether he made a mistake choosing Leyla?

During the scene, the doctor said the beautiful had a “refreshing take on life”, it could be suggested that Liam wants to discuss how best he come to terms with the loss of his daughter Leanna Cavanagh (Mimi Slinger).
After all, Bernice spent a lot of time with Leanna when she and Liam were together for all those years before she jetted off to Australia.
And fans think Liam and Bernice will get back together too.
Taking to Twitter, one said: “Hope this all backfires on Meena. David ends up supporting Leyla, cause Liam goes to Bernice for comfort. And David realises that Leyla has always been the one and dumps Meena, causing her to go more psycho than she already is. #emmerdale.”
“#Emmerdale But deep down Leyla should know, Liam will get back with Bernice,” another wrote.
A third added: “I bet Liam and Bernice will get together #emmerdale.”
“I can see Bernice being the one he turns to for support. Leyla seeking advice from David, Meena green with envy and then plotting another Death. #emmerdale,” one tweet read.
