Emmerdale's Joe Warren Plant reveals he's the second star to sign up for Dancing On Ice

EMMERDALE actor Joe Warren-Plant has signed up for Dancing On Ice.

DOI hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield announced the news on This Morning today as Joe, 18, joined them via a video link from Lancashire.

He told the presenters he's already been sized up for a pair of skates and has been getting his practise in.

Joe, who plays Jacob Gallagher on Emmerdale, said: "I've been wearing them around the house to get them moulded to my feet.

"I’m super excited, I can’t even describe it. I’ve got the time off Emmerdale to really focus on training, and you know, try my best and learn some new skills.

"It’s a new challenge I have never done anything like that before, so yeah, super excited."

His Emmerdale character Jacob left the Dales for a six-month stint in Portugal to visit his mum – giving the actor time to take part in DOI.

But Joe confirmed he'll be returning to Emmerdale once the competition is over next year.

Joe is set to be judged by ice skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean when the talent show returns in January.

Dancing On Ice teased the news earlier this week with a photo of Joe and three other stars mocked together.

Taking to the show's official social media channels, bosses posted a picture showing half of four celebrities from the neck down, with the remaining stars to be announced.

However, The Sun has already revealed Capital radio presenter Sonny Jay, musician and telly presenter Myleene Klass, comedian Rufus Hound, rapper Lady Leshurr, Towie’s Billie Faiers and former England footballer Wayne Bridge have joined the skating contest.

We revealed Myleene Klass, 42, signed up to the series just weeks after getting engaged.

Guess who won’t be holding the coats at the side of the rink anymore! I am so, SO excited to be joining the cast of @dancingonice. My girls have always wanted me to do this but I’ve always been too scared someone will skate over my fingers! Anyway, I want to make them proud and show them I’m up for a challenge when completely out of my comfort zone but most of all, I want a bum like Jlo! ⛸🍑

A source insisted the skating show had landed a real coup with Myleene, who has been in showbiz for nearly two decades.

They said: “Dancing On Ice bosses are delighted to work with Myleene. She’s got the perfect blend of beauty and brains which fans are sure to love when the show returns. Myleene feels the time is right to take on a new challenge and she can’t wait to push herself on the ice.

“Her family are massive fans of the shows and her kids can’t wait to see her in action.”

Another source told The Sun it was “a big shock” that Myleene is doing Dancing On Ice as many thought she would be holding out for BBC rival Strictly.

But they added: “ITV pay a lot more than the BBC though and she is expected to have signed a huge deal worth over £50,000.

"People are surprised she’s doing it but the show is intense and she will be working hard for every penny.”
