The couple said a heartbreaking goodbye to their newborn daughter in Tuesday night's episode, following a fantasy-like sequence as if Grace had survived.
However the reality saw the tot die in her mothers arms, and Dominic has revealed there is more heartache ahead as Paddy and Chas deal with their grief in very different ways.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Dominic said: "We knew the outcome of the birth but we didn’t want to know anymore as I like the surprise in the scripts.
"So I don’t actually don’t know what happens with Paddy and Chas next.
"I just know that they are set to struggle in their own ways for a while – but whether or not it’s a happy ending for them both, I have no idea."
Asked whether he would like the couple to stay together, Dominic said he did, but not at the expense of good drama.
He explained: "Yeah I would but I really like the drama as well so I wouldn’t want them to just live happily ever after.
"The differences in them both are always interesting to explore – she’s bolshy, opinionated and strong – a fantastic woman, whereas he’s a bit wet so the differences between them are enough to cause drama.
"I don’t think you can let anyone be too happy but I hope for some happiness between them after this, yeah."
Viewers were left in tears on Tuesday at the emotional scenes, which saw Grace taken away by a nurse to be an organ donor, leaving her heartbroken parents behind in the hospital room.
Many tweeted about being in tears, with one writing: "Oh this is heartbreaking #Emmerdale".
While another added: "Going home without Gracie how heart breaking #Emmerdale".
A third was devastated, tweeting: "This is so upsetting! #Emmerdale" while a fourth shared: "This is devastating #emmerdale".
