Emmerdale star Thomas Atkinson reveals whether Lachlan White will kill Belle Dingle

Emmerdale star Thomas Atkinson has opened up over whether his villainous character Lachlan White will ever turn against his girlfriend Belle Dingle.

Lachlan is the village’s biggest threat at the moment after killing several characters since January – but fans have been wondering whether Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) will ever see his dark side.

It’s previously been revealed that Lachlan’s storyline will come to a head in the autumn, so as the stakes get higher over the coming weeks, it’s possible that nobody will be safe.

However, answering the all-important question of whether Belle is in danger, Thomas replied: “Their relationship is actually in a great place at the moment. Next week, they even start making plans to get a flat together.

“Lachlan feels great when Belle suggests getting their own place. He loves her and he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. It’s a good distraction for him as well.

“Lachlan would definitely be pretty lonely without Belle. She’s pretty much his entire world. There’s a reason why he’s done everything he’s done – they’re motivated killings. It’s all for Belle.

“I don’t think he could do Belle any harm. He might threaten it, but he’d never, ever hurt her – otherwise his crimes would have no meaning.”

Next week, Emmerdale fans will see Lachlan up to no good again as Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade) is in danger of becoming his next victim.

When Priya gets dangerously close to stumbling across Rebecca’s secret message which brands Lachlan a killer, the twisted teen has to decide how to deal with the situation. Will this mean another murder?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
