Emmerdale shock as Charity Dingle tells her family that Ryan Stocks is her son – before being forced to choose between him and Noah

For months the character has been getting to know her secret child, who she originally believed had died soon after birth.

However with lots of drama occurring elsewhere in the Dingle family, Charity has been reluctant to tell them about Ryan.

However in tonight's episode, the truth was finally revealed after Ryan turned up looking for his mum.

Discovering she had gone on a day out with son Noah, Ryan decided to stay in the pub and get drunk instead.

Having met Marlon, Ryan soon found himself sat next to Charity's daughter Debbie, and freaked her out by revealing he knew her daughter Sarah was in hospital.

Ryan kept trying to call Charity, who ignored him as she spent time with Noah after feeling like she had neglected him.

As he drank more, Ryan continued to wind Debbie up as she sat with Cain and Faith.

Charity suddenly returned, and looked shocked to see Ryan surrounded by her family.

"What's going on? What are you doing here?"

Ryan explained how he had wanted to see her and had been drinking, before Cain told him to head off.

Telling him not to go, her family asked how she knew him.

She replied: "He's my son, I know him because I gave birth to him.

As Faith asked: "I beg your pardon", Charity told her shocked relatives: "I said he's my son", while Ryan gave his mum a smile for finally being honest with everyone.

In the second half of tonight's double bill, Charity had a lot of explaining to do with her family, but managed to convince Debbie to give her brother a chance.

She had less success with Noah though, who refused to accept Ryan as his father is Charity's rapist, DI Bails.

The teen insisted he didn't want any reminders of what happened to his mother, and decided to leave when Charity said she wouldn't risk losing Ryan for a second time.
