Emmerdale reveals the fate of DI Bails tonight (September 12) as his trial comes to an end in tense scenes.
DI Bails (Rocky Marshall) has been charged with raping and grooming Charity Dingle when she was 14, but last night’s hour-long episode saw him try to fool the jury with a pack of lies in court.
In Wednesday’s visit to the village, Charity (Emma Atkins) and her loved ones anxiously wait for news after the jury have retired to consider their verdict.
An emotional and pessimistic Charity is still convinced that Bails will be found not guilty, fearing that she struggled too much when giving her evidence and failed to convince the jury.
Charity also worries that the false evidence from Bails’s wife could have made an impact too. With the weight of the world on her shoulders, she even considers staying away from the court rather than being present for the verdict.
Later on, Charity’s old flame Cain (Jeff Hordley) finds her struggling and defeated, so he tries to talk her round and urges her to stay positive.
When the jury do come back with their verdict not long afterwards, will justice be served at last?
Emmerdale airs tonight at 7pm on ITV.
