Since arriving in Walford, Mick (played by Danny Dyer) and Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) became favourites among the EastEnders residents and fans. Despite having their own problems to deal with, they always lent an ear for other people’s worries. Recently, Linda has been suffering with her own demon; alcoholism. And in upcoming scenes, she is going to go off the rails and find herself in grave danger. But will Lee Carter (Danny Hatchard) be able to return in time and save his mother?
In recent weeks, the Queen Vic landlady has taken to the bottle to find comfort, and in an attempt to distract herself from her problems, she decides to get involved with the ‘Ball and Change’ winners dinner.
However, she is left mortified when she turned up and finds out Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) was joking about dressing up for the occasions.
To take her mind of being embarrassed, Linda increases her drinking and ends up giving Ruby a piece of her mind.
Stumbling home drunk, Mick decides he needs to take drastic action and pours all of his wife’s wine down the drain.

But how actions have devastating consequences and Linda explodes with rage.
However, Mick isn’t the only one the hear the abuse being shouted, their son Ollie watches on.
Unable to acknowledge her behaviour, Linda leaves the pub and heads across to the Square gardens, bottle in hand.
Sad and alone, Linda swigs continuously and ends up falling asleep, missing out on Mick’s surprise.
Will Lee arrive in time to help her?
Discussing Lee’s return to EastEnders, actress Kellie who plays Linda has said: “She’s completely shocked and blown away.
“As thrilled and excited as she is to see him, the timing of his appearance isn’t good…”
As for what it was like to share the screen with Danny again, Kellie added: “It was really lovely.

“It was great to do scenes with him again and lovely to have him around.
“It was also great to be able to be a mum to an older child again – I’ve missed playing that parental role.”
As for how the storyline is going to develop, Christmas Day comes and goes but with New Year’s Eve around the corner, Linda is going to be left in an awful situation.
Determined to ring in the New Year with a cheer, Linda heads to Karen’s house to join in her party.
