EastEnders‘ Mel Owen will make a shocking discovery about her ex-husband Ray Kelly next week after teaming up with Jack Branning.
With Ray’s secrets continuing to unravel in upcoming scenes, an increasingly suspicious Mel (Tamzin Outhwaite) will turn back to Jack in order to find out what’s really going on.
When Jack gives Mel some intriguing information, she asks him to dig a little deeper and later hands him a wad of cash, insisting she wants him to do this as a job – not a favour.
Despite her growing concerns, Mel is still delighted when Ray gives her an anniversary surprise but her mind quickly turns elsewhere when Jack informs her that he has news.
Wanting to trust Ray, Mel has a change of heart about her earlier plan and tells Jack she doesn’t want to know anymore – their deal is off.
Feeling guilty, Mel even comes clean with Ray over her secret meetings with Jack when he confronts her, and she admits that she asked Jack to get some information on him.
As the two argue, Mel stands her ground and makes her anger towards Ray known but it’s not long before he manages to win her over yet again.
However, when Ray gets an urgent phone call and rushes off, Mel’s suspicions come back to the forefront and she is soon paying Jack another visit.
When Mel finally puts two and two together, she realises where Ray went and makes a shocking discovery after heading off to find him.
Still reeling from her discovery the following day, Mel warns Ray to stay away but soon has a change of heart and makes him a surprise proposition instead. But what is it? And is she making a big mistake by trusting him?
EastEnders airs these scenes next week on BBC One.
