EastEnders Christmas spoilers revealed as someone is left with blood on their hands

It’s looking like EastEnders will once again live up to those expectations that Dirty Den and Angie set all those decades ago with another shocking and heartbreaking series of Christmas episodes.

Between Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell’s deadly plunge two years ago and Lauren and Abi’s own fall last year, the festive period has racked up quite a body count in Albert Square over the last few years. It’s looking like this year won’t be much different.

Here’s the official BBC teaser for what lies ahead over the festive period: “Christmas is rarely a quiet time in Albert Square and this year is no exception when at least one person is left with blood on their hands in EastEnders.

“New Year kicks off in dramatic style for Mel and Ray as their wedding day arrives but what does Mel have in store for her deceitful groom? As the bride-to-be puts the final pieces of her plan into place, she comes to a disturbing realisation.”

At this point, one has to wonder why the residents of Walford don’t just go away for the holidays. In any event, we do know that the festive period will feature a dramatic showdown between Kat and Alfie Moon when the whole truth about Hayley’s baby secret is finally exposed.

Plus, Dean Gaffney (aka Robbie Jackson) let slip to Digital Spy last month that soap bosses are planning for an “iconic” character to return for a Christmas storyline.

“We’ve got a returnee coming back, which is exciting,” he teased. “For me, personally, I’m a good friend of this person — whoever they may be! I think they’re iconic with EastEnders.

“There’s certain people that come back to a show, they might not add to it, but this person definitely adds to it! It’s good to have this person back. Their storyline at Christmas will be very interesting.”

We should be getting even more festive news soon. For now, EastEnders continues on Tuesday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
