Big Finish is granting the wish of many a Doctor Who fan by giving the Paternoster Gang their own spin-off.
Neve McIntosh, Catrin Stewart and Dan Starkey will return as Madame Vastra, Jenny and Strax the Sontaran for their own audio adventures.
Set in Victorian London during the twelfth Doctor’s era, the trio’s adventures will see them face the first electronic automated cars in London (very ahead of their time), hordes of zombies, and ghost-like figures which are haunting Greenwich before their former selves have died…

Plus, they’ll have to cope with the capers of the Bloomsbury bunch – an intergalactic alien trio, comprising a Sontaran couple and their Silurian female servant, causing trouble in London – and this town isn’t big enough for two extraterrestrial gangs.
Big Finish has greenlit four volumes of the Paternoster Gang spin-off, each containing three adventures, to be released across 2019 and 2020.
Volume One, Heritage, is out in April, and features ‘The Cars That Ate London’ by Jonathan Morris, ‘A Photograph to Remember’ by Roy Gill, and ‘The Ghosts of Greenwich’ by Paul Morris.
The Paternoster Gang Volumes 1-4 are available for pre-order now ahead of their release in April 2019, October 2019, March 2020 and October 2020, at £25 on CD or £20 on download each from bigfinish.com.
All four volumes can also be ordered as a bundle, at £94 on CD or £80 on download.
Before the spin-off officially launches, Madame Vastra, Jenny and Strax will make their Big Finish debut together in the celebratory release, The 8th of March, being released on International Women’s Day – March 8, 2019.
