Doctor Who's Mandip Gill aka Yasmin Khan drops hints about series 12

Doctor Who star Mandip Gill has dropped the first hints about series 12 during her appearance on This Morning.

The 30-year-old actress, who plays Jodie Whittaker’s current sidekick Yasmin Khan, was quizzed about a potential follow-up by Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.

She said: “I don’t know if there’s another series – who knows where we end up at the end of this one, to be honest. There are three companions, but who knows where it goes?”

Mandip appears alongside Bradley Walsh, who plays Graham O’Brien and Tosin Cole’s Ryan Sinclair and it sounds like romance could be on the cards for Ryan and Yasmin.

“I’m not going to rule it out,” explained Mandip. “I’m never going to say never, at this point it’s just a little bit of fun and they’re just tying to find their feet in this new world. But there’s sometimes when she finds him really annoying like an annoying brother.”

Mandip also teased what we can expect visually from upcoming episodes as she revealed they filmed in Spain and Wales.

She said: “We filmed an episode in Spain, which is yet to come and we’ve just been working in and around Cardiff, but there are so many places that don’t look like Cardiff.

“There’s an episode that’s meant to be somewhere else, I can’t give it away. That’s part of Wales – there’s so many different terrains in Wales, it’s shocking!”
