Doctor Who series 11 gets a later time slot for Jodie Whittaker's second episode

The BBC has confirmed that the second episode of Doctor Who series 11 will have a later time slot than Jodie Whittaker’s full debut episode.

Longtime fans, we know you might be thinking that we’re going back to the dark day of the show being bounced around the schedules, causing people to lose interest and ratings to drop, but it may not be that bad.

So, this week’s episode, ‘The Woman Who Fell to Earth’, premieres at 6.45pm and lasts an hour, which takes us right up to the Strictly Come Dancing results show at 7.45pm. That’s followed by Still Open All Hours at 8.30pm and Jenna Coleman’s The Cry at 9pm.

As reported by RadioTimes, ‘The Ghost Monument’ will air at 6.55pm the week after. Since episode 2 is only 50 minutes long, it takes us right up to the Strictly Come Dancing results show at 7.45pm. That’s followed by Still Op- you get where we’re going with this.

Every episode of series 11 bar the first is said to be 50 minutes long, so hopefully the BBC have locked in their Sunday night schedule, of Who then Strictly then a comedy then a prime time drama, until the end of the series.

We won’t know when the episodes will air until the week before, and with iPlayer and such you may not really care anymore, but with the constant change that’s part and parcel of Who, a little regularity wouldn’t go amiss.
