Dancing On Ice’s Joe Swash rushed to hospital for second time – but WILL be allowed to dance at final – The Sun

DANCING On Ice star Joe Swash had to race back to hospital for a second time today as he battles a stomach-churning injury.

The 38-year-old actor explained he has undergone another operation to drain yet more infected "goo" from his ear after being kicked with an ice-skate.

However, he said he WILL be allowed to perform at the big finale of Dancing On Ice on Sunday – without the head bandages.

Joe explained: "I went to the hospital and my ear swelled up again and they had to drain it, which was honestly the worst feeling in the world.

"But the worst feeling in the world is that I think the bandage has actually got bigger."

However, the star confirmed that doctors had cleared him to remove it for Sunday's night big final, complaining: "I look like a nun."

Speaking on This Morning today, he said: "They had to drain it again – it keeps filling up with liquid. It's too early, it's not very nice.

"But the good thing is he's going to let me take it off for Sunday. I did hear people going: 'Can get purple bandages?' I was like: 'No way.'"

Despite the seriousness of Joe's condition, his girlfriend Stacey has managed to see the funny side, comparing him to sainted Catholic missionary Mother Teresa.

Sharing footage of Joe cuddling up to baby Rex wearing his headband, Stacey said: "Joe's home… or should I say Mother Teresa's back."

Joe revealed on Wednesday that he was kicked in the ear by pro partner Alex Murphy and needed an emergency operation to drain the fluid from his ear.

He explained: "It got infected which meant last night I had to get rushed to hospital and have an operation on it and cut it open and drain out all the gooey stuff."
