BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker cheekily hit back at viewers after opting for a show-stopping outfit to present on the show.
Dan, 44, was accused of wearing jeggings, which are leggings made of a jean material, while presenting alongside Sally Nugent on the BBC show this week.
The BBC host was seen on air wearing a form-fitting navy suit with a white shirt and a grey tie, while Sally opted for a purple blazer and dark trousers.
However, fans mistook the outfit for jeans as one cheekily asked: "Is @mrdanwalker wearing jeggings this morning on @BBCBreakfast?"
Another added: "It must be a trick of the light!"
A third claimed: "He has to wear what the BBC tell him to wear."
But Dan hit back at the comments, as he replied to say: "No he isn't," adding "regulation trousers" as a hashtag along with a laughing face.
Viewers were left disappointed to not see Dan on their screens on Wednesday, which he normally presents with Sally.
He and Sally usually do Monday to Wednesday before Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt take over on a Thursday.
However, Sally was seen on the red sofa next to stand-in presenter Jon Kay for the edition of the news programme.
Dan is yet to give an explanation for his absence, but the star regularly changes up his schedule to fit in his other projects.
Fans took to social media to share their opinions, with one posting: "Where is Dan Walker this morning?? Most weeks he’s only doing 2 days!! Why??
"Yet another show on BBC where there is no continuity. It’s a shambles. John Kaye is so dull."
Another said: "WHERE'S DAN?"
But a third said: "John Kay is excellent but Dan Walker should stick to football."
BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC.
