Countryfile's Helen Skelton reveals why TV bosses STILL haven't asked her to do I'm a Celeb

COUNTRYFILE'S Helen Skelton has revealed why TV bosses STILL haven't asked her to do I'm a Celeb.

The 37-year-old has taken on numerous challenges during her career including kayaking the entire length of the Amazon River, becoming the first person to reach the South Pole using a bicycle and flying with the Red Arrows.

The former Blue Peter presenter has also appeared on SAS: Who Dares Wins and the Christmas Special of Strictly Come Dancing in 2012, yet the I'm a Celebrity jungle still eludes her.

But in an exclusive chat with The Sun Online, Helen explained why, revealing: "I think they think I’d like it too much.

"I know people who have worked on the show, and in fact I bumped into the celeb booker and I was like ‘do you get to jump out of a plane?’ and you know where some people are like ‘I don’t want to jump out of a plane’, I was like ‘I’d do it if you jump out of a plane!’"

She added: "Toss in a rat? Dig that. That’s the problem with Blue Peter, you’re thrown into that environment."

Helen recalled having a conversation about all the crazy things she has done with fellow ex-Blue Peter star Anthea Turner while taking part in SAS.

She said: "What’s hard about SAS is you never know what’s coming, it’s not hard for the stuff that you see, it’s hard because at no point do you ever switch off.

"Whereas me and Anthea kept joking like, ‘We’ve had 10 years of this’. Like ‘Surprise, today you’re in a marathon’. ‘OK’."

When Helen isn't taking part in punishing challenges or working, she can be found at home with rugby player husband Richie Myler and their two sons, Ernie, six, and Louis, four.

Being such an active family, it's no surprise that Helen and Richie love being outdoors with their boys, and why she is such a perfect fit for Soltan's latest campaign.

The sun care brand wants to inspire families to get outside this summer, and be sun safe at the same time.

Helen said: "Getting outside and enjoying nature is great for physical and mental wellbeing, I have always been someone who has made the most of the great outdoors and enjoy an adventure.

"I think over the last 18 months we have exhausted our ideas bank, so I have teamed up with Soltan to come up with some top tips to help parents this summer – from fossil hunting and obstacle courses to cloud spotting and treasure hunts – all whilst safe in the knowledge that Soltan is offering sun protection for the whole family.”

Helen's top tips for outdoor family fun can be viewed on the Boots UK YouTube channel and customers can save 1/3 on Soltan Family Packs throughout the summer at boots.com/soltan.
