One of the most beloved characters on the cobbles may be about to get robbed by a treacherous thief after his wish for a loan went south.
Gemma Winter has recently reignited her love for Henry, a posh boy with big dreams to become landlord of The Rovers Return.
But his idea went completely south when he went to the bank for a loan to buy the business, but was sadly refused.
Rita tried to comfort poor Gemma, who was disappointed to find her big idea to become the landlady was doomed.
In a twist of fate, however, it looks like Rita may be forced to find cash elsewhere when a cheque she earns is eyed up by the mysterious toff.
Henry decides he needs a job to live with Gemma, so takes on a paper round with Rita at The Kabin.
Later on, however, Henry catches Rita with a cheque for £15,000, which she has gained from an annuity which has matured.
He closely watches her put the cheque in a drawer, but then runs into a couple of heavies, who say he must repay Cressida’s family £20,000 for the wedding which never happened.
Henry is clearly panicked, so heads back to the drawer and starts rifling through – but will he steal the cheque from his gracious landlady?
He then gets even more concerned when the following day, he hears Rita has promised to invest in Maria’s business.
He then gets a text which contains a photo of a sledgehammer, which makes him feel even more anxiety about having to pay back the horrendous bailiffs.
The startled man even contemplates stealing from the Rovers till, and makes his way up to it but is then thwarted by Johnny Connor, who has no idea of the boy’s shocking plan.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
