‘Coronavirus pandemic being ignored by UK’, says self-isolated Nancy Dell’Olio

Good Morning Britain fans saw Nancy Dell'Olio say that not enough is being done in the UK to stop the spread of coronavirus , while she is in self-isolation in Puglia, Italy.

The Strictly Come Dancing star appeared on the show via a video link, to speak about what self-isolation is like and whether it's a good idea.

The 58-year-old explained: "We have just been, in the last two days, in this strict regime.

"It was started a few weeks ago in the north of Italy, now the last two days, or gradually since Monday, there was the restriction to confine where we're going.

"So, food shopping, the pharmacy, to work if it's necessary, otherwise it's smart-working [working from home]."

She added: "The last two days, the restriction has been extended to all over the country."

The Celebrity Big Brother beauty went on: "It is difficult because you have to cope with something new.

"Especially for me. I'm not only very social, I've been living in two countries, I travel all the time, so to be told last weekend that I was recommended not to travel, because it may be difficult to come back…

"I knew that it would be difficult the next two weeks to travel around and now it's impossible."

Scolding the UK, Nancy finished: "I think the measures are quite hard to accept, but I do believe they're necessary.

"Personally, I don't think that England is doing enough."

The World Health Organisation classified coronavirus as a pandemic earlier this week.

This week, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that UK schools would not be shut as "this could do more harm than good".

Public mass gatherings, such as festivals and sporting events, are currently not banned, however ministers are "considering" a ban.

There has been a mixture of praise and criticism for the measures in place in the UK so far.

Many, though, are claiming that the UK should take note from other countries and enforce much stricter measures.
