The 30-year-old actor – who plays David Platt in the soap – took to Twitter to say he could "smell biscuits" at last night's bash.
The smell of fake tan is often compared the biscuits and jack's fans instantly knew what he meant.
He said: "“At the inside soap awards… and I smell biscuits.”
One social media user commented: “Fake tan smell? Mmmmmm biscuits.”
Another wrote: “It's all that fake tan ppl have had especially [sic].”
And the night just kept getting better for Jack, who picked up the Best Actor gong.
Jack beat off stiff competition from fellow Corrie star, Shayne Ward, who was nominated for his heartbreaking suicide storyline as Aiden Conner, and EastEnders' Danny Dyer.
However, Shayne picked up the Best Exit accolade for his tear-jerking departure.
Jack’s other co-stars, Connor McIntyre and Mollie Winnard, were also recognised at the awards ceremony.
Connor McIntyre was given huge praise for his role as evil Pat Phelan.
He landed two awards on the night, after being named Best Bad Boy and winning Best Shock Twist for Phelan's exit from the soap.
Simon Gregson picked up the Funniest Male award for his role as hapless Lothario Steve McDonald.
While Dolly-Rose Campbell won the Funniest Female for her part as kebab shop worker Gemma Winter.
Newcomer Mollie Winnard, who played evil Kayla Westbrook, also won praise for her short-lived stint on the cobbles.
She was handed the Best Bad Girl gong, with fans no doubt hoping that the award will secure her return to the soap.
