Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd has called for David Platt to have an affair with Leanne Battersby.
The actor has come up with a typically complicated soap storyline, which would see David betray his girlfriend Shona Ramsey (Julia Goulding) by sleeping with Leanne behind her back.
Speaking to Inside Soap‘s Yearbook 2019, which is out tomorrow, Jack explained: “I want David to have an affair with Leanne! Me and Julia have come up with an idea where David is having an affair with Leanne, and Shona is secretly sleeping with Ali the doctor.
“Then David – who can’t confide in Billy, because he’s Shona’s pal – goes to Ali to get antidepressants and pours his heart out, but he doesn’t realise Ali is sleeping with Shona.
“And Ali can’t tell her because he’s a doctor and it’s confidential!”
Only time will tell whether the storyliners take up Jack and Julia’s pretty detailed idea. It’d certainly infuriate David’s brother Nick Tilsley (Ben Price), who’s spent the past few weeks trying to win Leanne back himself.
Asked whether he’d like to see David and Shona get married, Jack replied: “I would, but I don’t want any of this Bistro wedding nonsense! Everyone’s done it. If we do it, I want it to be a proper church, and then a big do at a stately home.
“Are David and Shona rock solid now? There’s no such thing in Weatherfield! They’ve been through a lot, but the fact that her son killed David’s wife is always going to be in the background.”
