Coronation Street‘s Imran Habeeb is left horrified next week when he discovers that Kate Connor is keeping a huge secret from his sister Rana.
Imran (Charlie de Melo) is among the first to learn that Kate has made a secret baby deal with Robert Preston in a surprising new storyline twist.
Scenes airing later this week see Kate drunkenly suggest to Robert (Tristan Gemmill) that he should father a baby for her and Rana. Although Robert immediately rejects the idea, he later mulls things over and agrees to consider it after all.
Kate is keen to start a family with Rana, but her options are reduced when Rana admits that she doesn’t like the idea of a complete stranger being the father.
Robert is also keen for a child of his own, but Michelle is reluctant to have another baby after the devastating experience she went through with Ruairi.
Next week, Robert and Kate consult Adam Barlow (Samuel Robertson) about the idea, keen to hear how the arrangement would work from a legal perspective.
Later on, Adam accidentally lets the news slip to his business partner Imran, who can’t believe what he’s hearing.
Imran is furious to realise that Rana knows nothing of what Kate is planning behind her back. Will he keep quiet about what he knows?
Faye Brookes, who plays Kate, recently explained: “I don’t think Rana’s reaction to this is going to be good, but Kate doesn’t want to tell Rana anything. She wants to figure it all out until it’s a perfect plan. Everything is going to be sorted out – a contract drawn up, Robert signing that contract, knowing that everyone is going to be happy.
“Kate wants this perfect plan and then she’ll be happy, but who knows if that’s going to happen?”
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
