Coronation Street spoilers: Simon Barlow attacks Carla over shock decision

SIMON Barlow feels betrayed next week when his stepmother Carla Connor makes a shock decision.

The Coronation Street character sees red next week and attacks the businesswoman.

Carla (portrayed by Corrie legend Alison King) has decided to give one of Weatherfield's criminals a chance at Underworld.

Coming up next week, Jacob (Jack James Ryan) gets a new job in the factory but the news leaves Simon (Alex Bain) fuming and soon, Carla has some questions to answer.

Her stepson isn't the only member of the family to be miffed as Toyah, Nick, Leanne and even her very own husband and Simon's father Peter (Chris Gascoyne) are all in shock to hear about Carla's decision.

Nobody can understand her choice and Simon rails at her for her lack of loyalty.

But he keeps the worst treatment of all for Jacob.

Simon calls at the factory and publicly shames Jacobs for his violent, drug dealing past, deeply humiliating him while Carla tries her best to mask her unease.

The youngster takes things to another level by threatening Jacob, urging him to watch his back as he says he'll never be able to forgive him the harm done.

ITV viewers may know that Jacob was first introduced to them as a drug dealer in 2021.

Jacob manipulated Simon – with whom he worked at For Your Fries Only at the time – into believing he owed a serious debt to his drug dealing boss Harvey Gaskell.

This landed Simon into plenty of trouble as he was forced to do drug deals for Harvey.

His adoptive mother Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) eventually caught on and reported Harvey to the police – which only appeared to make things worse.

This notably resulted in Natasha Blakeman's death.

While Harvey eventually got comeuppance for his actions, Jacob managed to build a new life around him.

He eventually explored his romantic potential with Amy Barlow – who happens to be Simon's cousin.

The relationship caused quite a stir within Amy's family as she was pushed to breakup with Jacob due to his past behaviour.

But can the Barlows forgive and forget with time?
