Coronation Street airs Fiz Stape’s exit scenes next week as she makes an important decision over her troublesome daughter Hope.
Fiz will be leaving our screens as Jennie McAlpine, who plays her, is currently on maternity leave following the arrival of her second child Hilda.
Corrie fans know that Hope’s behaviour has been spiralling out of control for several months, although Fiz has often buried her head in the sand.
Next week’s episodes see Hope (Isabella Flanagan) take a shocking step too far while helping Tyrone Dobbs to take Evelyn’s beloved dog Cerberus on a walk.
While Tyrone (Alan Halsall) is distracted for a moment, Hope puts Cerberus on a tram to Rochdale so that the poor pooch goes missing.
As Tyrone and Fiz break the bad news to a devastated Evelyn, spiteful Hope twists the knife in further by admitting that she’s not even sorry.
Later in the week, Hope strikes again by biting Ruby, which leads to Fiz finally accepting that the schoolgirl needs professional help.
Fiz agrees to enrol Hope into a special school in Birmingham and arranges to move to the city with her for the foreseeable future.
Fiz also thaws towards Evelyn before she goes. Despite weeks of wanting Evelyn to leave, Fiz suggests that it might be better for her to stay and keep an eye on Tyrone.
Later, Tyrone, Ruby, Chesney, Evelyn and Kirk say an emotional goodbye to Fiz and Hope. How long will it be before they see the pair again?
Coronation Street airs on Wednesday, December 5 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
