It’s hard to believe, but LEGO and Star Wars have been a pair for two decades now. Things were looking a little grim for the LEGO Group back in 1999. Not only was the world bracing for the tremendously overhyped Y2K, but sales of LEGO building sets had been in decline. All that changed, practically overnight, with the introduction of the first LEGO Star Wars sets on April 9, 1999.
To celebrate the monumental introduction of these incredible toys, LEGO stealth-released five all-new sets in honor of the 20th anniversary on April 1 in anticipation of the official anniversary date. With today being such an important day in LEGO history, why not join the festivities and bring home one of these awesome sets?
LEGO Star Wars 20th Anniversary Slave 1 for $119.97
LEGO Star Wars Clone Scout Walker
If you want a classic Darth Vader minifigure (with display stand!), but don’t want to pay for an original, you can get one in this Clone Scout Walker 20th Anniversary set. On top of the great Vader minifig, you also get a Kashyyyk Trooper, Wookiee Warrior, Battle Droid and Spider Droid, on top of the scout walker.

LEGO Star Wars 20th Anniversary Snowspeeder for $31.99
LEGO Star Wars Snowspeeder
Even if Empire isn’t your favorite Star Wars movie, you have to admit the Battle of Hoth is one of the coolest battles in all of Star Wars. And everyone agrees Lando is the coolest dude in the entire galaxy, so if you’re after a special edition Lando Calrissian minifigure, this is the set to get. It also includes Luke Skywalker, Dak Ralter, and a nameless Rebel Trooper.

LEGO Star Wars 20th Anniversary Podracer for $23.99
LEGO Star Wars Podracer
Now this is podracing. While there is a sharp generational divide when it comes to accepting the prequels, no matter what your age, it’s hard to dispute the cool concept of podracing introduced in The Phantom Menace. Not only does this kit include a tiny Anakin Skywalker and a Padme Amidala minifigure, it includes a 20th Anniversary Luke Skywalker with display stand. It’s practically a family reunion.

LEGO Star Wars 20th Anniversary Imperial Dropship for $19.99
LEGO Star Wars Imperial Dropship
Fill up your Imperial minifigure army by adding 3 Stormtroopers and a Shadow Trooper from this Imperial Dropship set. On top of that, you get the Han Solo 20th Anniversary minifig with display stand, based on the 2000 figure. That’s a nice little bonus right there.

Even More Excellent LEGO Star Wars Sets
These aren’t part of the 20th Anniversary LEGO Star Wars line, but they’re amazing and important sets, and should be celebrated. You can still get your hands on the LEGO Star Wars Death Star set for $499.95, as well as the LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series Millennium Falcon for $799.95. That’s an astonishing amount of money, but these are among the best LEGO Star Wars sets ever created, so think it over.
