Meteorologist Carol Kirkwood is usually on hand to deliver the latest forecast but on Monday morning’s BBC Breakfast she was replaced by Matt Taylor. Her disappearance comes just days after she revealed she’d presented her final show with Louise Minchin who is leaving the show in just two weeks.
Dan and Louise didn’t comment on Carol’s absence from BBC Breakfast but on Wednesday, the weather presenter revealed she had her “final time” throwing back to her colleague in the studio.
With Louise leaving the BBC in two weeks, it’s likely Carol is taking a two-week break from her hosting duties.
Last week, Carol told viewers: “This is the last time I’m sad to say I’ll be throwing back to Lou.
“Lou, this is the last time we’re going to work together on Breakfast, isn’t it?

“I’m very sad but it’s been such a pleasure, such a joy working with you and I’ve learnt so much from you so thank you for that.”
Fans of Carol were sad to see she was missing from Monday’s show and were quick to take to Twitter to comment on her absence.
One viewer said: “Not going to get used to Matt taking over from Carol, those boots are big to fill!”
Another added: “Anyone missing Carol so bad? I need her perky morning positivity to get me through my days!”
