Speaking about Henry’s arrival, Lindsey said: ‘Henry is such a friendly dog and I can’t wait to have him in the studio every week.
‘He’s already met the crew, had a good sniff around, and seems to love it. Pets have always been such an important part of Blue Peter and it’s so exciting to be welcoming the latest one to the show.’
Dogs on Blue Peter have become a beloved institution, with the first, Petra, making her debut in 1962 and being immortalised as a statue in the Blue Peter garden.
Along with dogs, the show’s studio has also been home to nine cats, five tortoises and two parrots.
Fancy a trip down memory lane? Here’s some of the show’s past mutts.
You can catch Henry’s debut on Blue Peter at 5.30pm on CBBC.
