Big Bang Theory viewers will know the main characters in the show are huge fans of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. The characters reference the show and comic books throughout the series. The show’s finale even featured an unexpected cameo when Raj Koothrappali (played by Kunal Nayyar) bagged the real Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) as his date to the Nobel Prize giving ceremony.
However, fans are curious to know how Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) failed to recognise a different Buffy cast member in the show.
In the episode The Apology Insufficiency, Eliza Dushku appeared as an FBI agent.
She speaks to Sheldon who does not seem to recognise her from one of his favourite shows.
This seems strange seeing as they recognise other celebrities who appear in the series.

Who is Buffy’s Eliza Dushku?
Eliza Dushku is an American actress and producer who is known for her role as Faith in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Faith first appeared in series three of Buffy and also featured in the spin-off series Angel.
She is also a vampire slayer who takes up the role after the death of her predecessor.
Faith and Buffy have their differences but ultimately end up as friends.
The actress who plays Faith appeared in The Big Bang Theory more than 10 years after the Buffy series.
She plays Special Agent Angela Page in one of the episodes in season 4 of The Big Bang Theory.
In the episode she introduces herself and tells Sheldon she wants to ask questions about his friend Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg).
Sheldon sits through the interview without referencing Buffy The Vampire Slayer at all.

Fans argue as the actress is playing a completely separate character in the show it would be strange for Sheldon to call her out on her role as Faith.
However, others feel it would have made sense for Sheldon, who often talks about the vampire slayer, to realise who was interviewing him.
Writers of The Big Bang Theory are also huge fans of the Buffy franchise.
Showrunner Steve Holland said Buffy actress Sarah Michelle Gellar was chosen to star in the last episode for this reason.
