Damian, 30, and his pal Tom Rolfe form Double Trouble – a double act who put on shows throughout the UK.
The insider added that Double Trouble are being lined up to take on The Chuckle Brothers panto roles.
The duo were set to star in Cinderella at the Hull New Theatre this December.
Damian Patton paid tribute to his uncle on Twitter earlier this week.
He wrote: "It is with Great sadness that Barry chuckle is no longer with us, he was a great uncle.
"Loved to him watch and inspired my career. Thank you all for your messages of support–Damian."
The death of the comic – real name Barry Elliot – was announced by his manager last weekend after a short illness.
The pair were filming their return to TV with Channel 5 show Chuckle Time when Barry fell ill earlier this year.
The duo's summer schedule was cancelled by doctors for a period of rest but his condition deteriorated.
Barry starred alongside his younger brother Paul for more than 50 years, including a 22-year stint on BBC show ChuckleVision.
