Many fans of the Back to the Future series have noticed over the years that Biff Tannen strikes a resemblance to President Donald Trump.
In Back to the Future Part II, there’s a plot where Biff – portrayed by Thomas F. Wilson – becomes a billionaire and the most powerful man in all of Hill Valley. His hair is similar to Trump’s, his casino is as elegant as Trump Tower, and he boasts the conceited and arrogant attitude that you get in the typical movie/TV star billionaire.
Have a side-by-side comparison of the two and make your own judgement:
As it turns out, the film’s popular main antagonist was inspired by none other than Trump – who earned worldwide fame as a reality television star in The Apprentice before his career in politics.
This is according Back to the Future writer and producer Bob Gale, who explained everything in an interview with The Daily Beast.
“We thought about it when we made the movie! Are you kidding” Gale said. “You watch Part II again and there’s a scene where Marty confronts Biff in his office and there’s a huge portrait of Biff on the wall behind Biff, and there’s one moment where Biff kind of stands up and he takes exactly the same pose as the portrait? Yeah.”
Despite the incredible resemblances, Biff’s character never actually wound up receiving the same sort of power that Trump holds today. Marty McFly and Doc Brown use the DeLorean time machine to travel back to 1955, where they’re successful in stopping Biff from eventually become a billionaire and “America’s greatest living folk hero.”

This allows the younger Biff to bet on all the sports games throughout the years, knowing ahead of time what all the scores will be. But Marty manages to steal and burn the Almanac from Biff near the end of the second film, thus restoring the original reality.
But for a brief period, Mr. Tannen was able to witness the life of a billionaire, celebrity and powerful human being. Unlike Trump, however, Tannen’s fame only lasted for a short period of time.
