Awkward! This Morning’s Eamonn and Ruth have blazing row live on air

This Morning presenters Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford hosted the Sunday instalment of the show today as they did a Mother’s Day special.

The married couple made things a little awkward as Ruth couldn’t help telling Eamonn off for his lack of effort on Mother’s Day when their son Jack was a baby.

She blamed Eamonn for not organising her a card from Jack when he was two years old, but Eamonn wasn’t ready to take the blame for the faux pas.

He snapped back at her: “I slipped up once but I’m not your mother. Or you’re not my mother.”

Ruth hit back: “No but you’re his father and you should have bought the card for him to present it to me.”

Eamonn continued: “But he was only one so you…,” but Ruth chipped in: “But that’s not the point is it, mums out there?”

Awkward…

As the conversation got more heated, Eamonn tried to stir the conversation to Phil Vickery’s cooking segment as he said: “Well here is the point, Phil is here to help with a last minute that to help.”

Ruth got the last word as she joked: “There will be people who have forgotten, waking up going ‘Oh is it Mothering Sunday?'”

Phil then showed them how to make a bacon and egg sandwich to give their mother, forcing the pair to drop their spat.

Meanwhile, the pair left viewers in stitches as the couple talked about dogs, as Eamonn told his wife: “If I was a little dog you’d love me. I’d be a little naughty dog.”

Ruth replied: “You’d be frisky.”

This Morning continues tomorrow at 10.30am on ITV.
