Angela Black viewers all baffled by the same moment in episode five – but did you notice it?

ANGELA Black viewers were all baffled by the same moment in episode five – involving a bunch of bananas.

The ITV drama stars Joanne Froggatt as the titular Angela, whose seemingly idyllic family life hides the darkness and turmoil that is going on behind the scenes.

The drama has seen Angela start to unravel at the hands of her controlling husband Olivier, with flashbacks showing how she has struggled with raising her children, something Olivier is now using against her in a bid to ruin her life.

Throughout the episodes, odd things have happened that have left viewers perplexed, and last night's was no exception.

At one point, Angela went to a food shop to buy some items and ended up picking up a bunch of bananas that didn't look too fresh.

As they lay at the checkout, Angela tried to pay for her shopping, only to be told her card had been declined – as Olivier had cut her off.

However, the fruits appearance and why Angela still decided to buy them left viewers distracted.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "State of those bananas. I wouldn’t have picked them up in the first place."

Another added: "They were some manky bananas she was buying."

A third tweeted: "I’d of put those bananas back too! Minging they were, definitely wasn’t going to pay for them."

Meanwhile a fourth agreed, writing: "Well those speckled bananas weren't worth buying in the first place."

Another viewer joked: "Ah the name Black is because of the colour of the bananas."

Angela Black concludes on Sunday, November 14 at 9pm on ITV.
