Love Your Garden: Couple break down in tears after renovations
Love Your Garden host Alan Titchmarsh broke down when he met 32-year-old Daniel Bradbury and his two children, and learned he was one of the youngest people in the UK to be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease.
As Alan planned how he was going to transform the garden, he told the rest of his team: “The other thing we must remember while we’re doing this is that Daniel was a landscape gardener when he was diagnosed.
“He’s one of ours isn’t he..” he said, before bursting into an emotional display of tears.
“We’ve got to look after him, haven’t we? We’ll do him proud,” Alan added.
“As one man of soil to another, I’m determined to give Daniel and his family a garden to be proud of.”

Alan and the team then took on the challenge of taking the large, empty space, full of weeds and half-dead grass, and turning it into a beautiful garden space.
The garden enthusiast certainly put his all into the landscape, as the space looked completely unrecognisable.
His design included a figure of eight paths, trees, bushes, wildflowers, a garden room and a dining area, complete with a pergola cover, a working kitchen, and a table and chairs.
A beautiful water feature was also installed without forgetting a learning playhouse for the family’s two toddlers.

Daniel was then invited back to see the team’s hard work and the incredible transformation.
Daniel looked starstruck as he admired his new garden along with his wife who was holding his hand for support.
“Thank you very much,” the dad-of-two told Alan with tears in his eyes as he looked around the space.
Alan then introduced Daniel to “dad’s apple tree”, where he invited him to place the final spade full of soil on to say he “helped plant it,” so that it would always be there for his children.
Alan wasn’t the only one left in tears, as viewers at home were equally as emotional after watching the episode.
“I’m not crying, you’re crying #loveyourgarden,” fan @njames2000 wrote on Twitter.
Another user @rugbycath shared: “Just a few minutes into #Loveyourgarden and I’m in tears already. Dementia is a terrible disease but to have it at only 30 is devastating. The @LoveYourGarden2 team always do an incredible job and I know they will this time too.”
A third fan @GavinEvs pointed out: “Dad’s apple tree got me #LoveYourGarden,” followed by a teary-eyed emoji.
Fan @snoopsaj noted: “Heartbreaking for family you would have thought all his friends being landscape gardeners would have done it #Loveyourgarden.”
Love Your Garden airs on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX in the UK.
