ABC’s A Million Little Things Season 4 finally returns, however, two cast members are missing, and there are two we expect to see a lot more of. The ensemble cast mostly returns — David Giuntoli, Grace Park, Tristan Byon, Romany Malco, Christina Moses, Allison Miller, Lizzy Green, and James Roday Rodriguez. However, Stéphanie Szostak and Chance Hurstfield’s characters, Delilah and Danny, still haven’t returned from France, and they may not ever.
Is Delilah leaving ‘A Million Little Things’?
In the A Million Little Things Season 4 Episode 1 premiere, Delilah (Szostak) and Danny (Hurstfield) announced their move to France. Delilah received a call that her father had a stroke and might not make it. She also explained to her friend group that everything about their home still reminded her of her dead husband, Jon Dixon (Ron Livingston). Danny decided to travel with Delilah to France to support her. Instead of a trip to France, Delilah spoke of this as a move to France. She needed a change and wished to be surrounded by family.
According to TVLine, Szostak is only a recurring character in the A Million Little Things Season 4 cast because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Series creator and executive producer DJ Nash explained to the outlet that Canada’s mandatory 14-day quarantine for travelers prevents Szostak from flying back and forth from her family in Connecticut to filming in Vancouver. Therefore, Delilah appears in a few episodes early in the season and then hopefully later on, but she is not a series regular for A Million Little Things Season 4. She wished to spend more time with her husband of thirty years and their two boys. Therefore, Szostak might be back as Delilah for the A Million Little Things Season 4 finale, but that’s probably it.
Chance Hurstfield also left his role as Danny in A Million Little Things in 2021. On the show, he’s currently in France with Delilah with no sign of a return.
Cameron Esposito joins the ‘A Million Little Things’ cast as the person from Katherine’s past
We might see more of newcomer Cameron Esposito in the A Million Little Things Season 4 cast. In the season 4 episode 9 midseason premiere, Esposito portrays Katherine’s former best friend from middle school, Greta Strobe. She now runs a very successful tattoo parlor and works as a tattoo artist at Strobe Lights (obviously named after her).
Viewers found out about Greta Strobe in A Million Little Things Season 4 Episode 7, “Stay.” Katherine admitted that it was her first time going out with a woman to her date. Later, the date excused herself to head to the bathroom and never returned. Later that evening, Katherine told her friend and legal assistant Carter French (Sam Pancake) what had happened. They also talked about awkward situations in high school. Katherine regretted not responding well when Greta came out to her. Instead of supporting Greta, Katherine pushed her away.
You might recognize Esposito because she is a comedian, actor, and podcaster. According to IMDb, she’s well known for the TV series, Take My Wife and her podcast, Queery. She frequently focuses on the LGBTQ community, feminism, and social justice. Esposito is expected to guest star in at least three upcoming episodes of A Million Little Things Season 4.
Andrea Navedo returns as Valerie in the ‘A Million Little Things’ Season 4 cast
Another A Million Little Things cast guest viewers might see more of in season 4 is Andrea Navedo as Valerie. Viewers should remember Valerie as the chef that Regina (Moses) met when she worked at Crocodilz. When Shanice Williamson (Nikiva Dionne) asked Regina to cater her latest production in Miami, Regina asked Valerie to join. Both women took the position catering. However, Regina told Shanice that Valerie was a convicted felon. She quits the job when Valerie finds out that everyone knows about her jail time.
Regina tracks down Valerie to apologize in A Million Little Things Season 4 Episode 9. Although Valerie is upset, the two reconnect over shared family drama. We might see more of Navedo in the role this season.
A Million Little Things Season 4 returns on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
