Orlando, Dubai and Las Vegas may be renowned for their thrilling rides, but it turns out that Brits after an adrenaline-inducing water ride won't need to go too far.
That's because the world's best water ride has been unveiled at this year's Golden Ticket Awards, and Blackpool Pleasure Beach's Valhalla ride has been crowned the winner!
In fact it's the fifth year in a row where the thrilling attraction has topped the list.
It's no surprise that the high-speed ride has proven such a hit.
Plunging visitors into darkness, the ride currently holds the title for the longest indoor dark ride in the world.
Alongside the pitch black surroundings, the attraction features heaps of special effects including fire, water, snow, thunder and lightning to put even the bravest souls to the test.
Valhalla first opened back in June 2000, and cost approximately £15million to create (also making it one of the most expensive water rides to be built).
Then of course there's plenty more for thrill-seekers to discover at Blackpool's famous park.
For a start, rollercoasters such as the Big One and ICON – the latter which opened last year – never fail to be a hit with visitors.
Amanda Thompson OBE, Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s Managing Director, said: "I am thrilled that Valhalla has been named the world’s best water ride five times in a row at the Golden Ticket awards.
"It’s extremely pleasing to see that the ride still regarded as the world’s best and is yet another example of the world class line up of rides we have here at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.”
No doubt the UK will be on most water park lovers' radars already. Not only does it offer a plethora of brilliant water parks, but it's also set to welcome a huge new £75million water park which will offer heaps of slides, rides and even a luxury spa.
