Virgin Holidays launches new private lounge for customers at Universal Orlando Resort

It’s a space for customers to use at any point during their holiday, and will also make life easier for those checking out so they can enjoy the last day of their holiday in full.

Located at Universal’s Aventura Hotel, the lounge will offer light breakfasts as well as free Wi-Fi at all times for those all-important Instagram posts.

The final day of a holiday can often be a bit odd, as holidaymakers don’t have anywhere to store their luggage, and feel like they are in limbo before their flight home.

The new v-lounge changes that, offering Virgin Holidays customers private lockers to stow suitcases in, and showers so they can freshen up before their flight home.

There will also be Virgin staff on hand at all times to help with questions about the park, flight times or luggage.

Angus Bond, Head of USA product at Virgin Holidays, commented: “We make every moment of a holiday feel special – from the second you book, to the minute you arrive back home.

“This partnership is designed to ensure our customers get the most from their holiday, by grabbing a quick breakfast prior to hitting the parks or making the most of your last day with access to shower facilities.

“The fact we are the first travel and tourism company to ever pioneer a concept like this with Universal Orlando Resort is a testament to the strength of our relationship and cements our position as the number one international tour operator to Florida.”

Alison Montague, managing director, Universal Parks and Resorts, added: “With the opening of Universal’s Volcano Bay last year – our third park – there is so much to see and do.

“Just like Virgin Holidays we want our guests to squeeze every last minute out of their holiday and we are delighted to work with them as part of this unique customer proposition.”

Sun Online Travel previously revealed that Virgin Holidays now has a beach club for guests in Barbados.

Designed to help tourists make the most of their final day abroad, The Departure Beach includes a private air-conditioned lounge, wifi, gaming areas, a beach bar and restaurant, check-in facilities and a posh bathroom and shower area.

Situated on Brownes Beach, the facility aims to solve the problem of the “lost day” of holiday, where travellers kill time between their early hotel check out and late evening flight home, when they could be taking a dip in the Caribbean or enjoying one last rum cocktail.

As cruise passengers heading home are at particular risk of suffering a “lost day” of holiday, any guests on a Virgin Cruise that terminates in Barbados will also have complimentary use of the resort.
