A TINY village in the UK has been compared to the Alps, being surrounded by a stunning forest.
Found in Snowdonia National Park, the village is home to just 560 locals.
Betws-y-Coed is popular with tourists travelling through Snowdonia.
The official tourism website states: "This magical setting has a distinctly Alpine feel enhanced by the dense Gwydyr Forest surrounding Betws-y-Coed."

One of the more unusual attractions in the village is the "Ugly House," a pretty building popular with tourists.
The name came not from its looks, but the sound of ‘Llugwy’, the name of the nearby river.
Now, it's home to the Honey Pot Tearoom, serving Bara Brith, a fruit loaf made with tea.
Indian restaurant Abbasi’s as well as several restaurants and pubs will keep you full in the evenings.
And a short drive away is Zip World, home to the Fforest Coaster, a toboggan ride on rails.
There are also the Treetop Nets, with high rope courses, as well as Skyride 2, the highest five-seater swing in Europe.
The scariest ride is Plummet 2, the first tandem drop in the world when passengers fall 100ft.
If you fancy staying, there are lots of B&Bs and hotels to choose from, including the 4* Craig-y-Dderwen the Riverside Hotel.
If you're on a budget, there is also the Llwyn Onn Glamping site and Woodlands Centre hostel.
It even has its own train station, so it is easy to get to with trains from Chester taking around two hours.
