Stop everything because a cheese theme park exists and we want to go

Cheese lovers, you may want to sit down for this one; there’s a brie-lliant theme park dedicated entirely to this glorious food.

The Imsil Cheese Park in South Korea is sure to make for a gouda time for foodies, offering 32 acres of trails and attractions, all of which offer various tributes and nods to cheese.

Although there are no rollercoasters, there’s stiltons of fun to be had including themed walking trails, mini cheese-themed rides, cheese making classes, and even buildings designed to look like blocks of cheese.

Oh, and of course ample opportunity to sample various local cheeses, or buy your own stash at the on-site shop.

The park, which has been open since 2004, is actually located in South Korea’s North Jeolla Province.

The region is tipped by locals to be one of the best cheese-producing parts of the country, so it’s a fitting home.

Visitors can learn about the area’s history and cheese making culture through the exhibits and displays, as well as sampling local produce and getting a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the cheese making process.

Need to walk off all of that food? Tread caerphilly along the quirky trails to be found with various fairytale scenes to discover – including an appearance from the Smurfs as they face off against their enemy Gargamel.

Kids can also run amok in the cheese-themed playground, or meet animals such as goats who are key to the cheese production process. (It’s worth noting that the park recommends kids be at least 24 months old to enjoy the activities).

The Imsil Cheese Park is a little way out from South Korea’s main cities; for example, it’s about a two-hour drive from Seoul. If you are considering a visit, take note that the park is closed on Mondays.

Still, if you love cheese, you’re likely to have edam good time.
