Little-known supermarket hack to save hundreds on theme park tickets | The Sun

MILK, eggs and theme park tickets could be on your shopping list next time you head to the supermarket.

Brits may not realise that there is a sneaky way to save as much as 50 per cent off tickets for attractions across Europe.

Spain’s biggest theme park PortAventura World in Salou is perfect for any family or thrill seeker.

Home to some of Europe’s tallest and fastest rollercoasters, adrenaline junkies can hop on Shambhala with a 240-foot drop while smaller guests can delight in the SesamoAventura area where they can ride along with their favourite characters from Sesame Street.

There is a separate Ferrari Land within the resort as well as
waterpark, Caribe Aquatic Park – but at £55 per person, per day for the main theme park, visiting can seriously eat into your holiday budget.

However, savvy Brits have found a way to slash ticket prices using their supermarket.

Bargain hunters have been downloading the Lidl Plus app in Spanish for the best deals.

By downloading the app and changing the language to Spanish in the setting tab, users can access huge discounts on tickets.

Click on the three dots at the bottom right-hand corner of the app and select ‘Beneficios Lidl Plus’ to find up to 50 per cent off day tickets depending on the time of year.

In November, we tried this hack and were offered 35 per cent off PortAventura Park and Ferrari Land tickets and well as 40 per cent off the popular Parque Warner theme park in Madrid.

Siobhan Hickey from County Kerry, Ireland used the app this August for two adults and one child while they were on holiday in Spain.

She told Sun Online Travel: "We were already on holiday in Salou and fancied a trip to the park.

"I follow a Facebook group called Salou Spain and someone has uploaded a video explaining how to use the Spanish app for the discount so I gave it a go.

"We got 50 per cent off park tickets so it was worth it. It was really
easy and we had a great day.”

Lynne Reay from Peterlee used the app in September, and also saved.

She explained: "I would normally buy our tickets direct from PortAventura or AttractionTickets.com but I looked around on some Facebook groups and found this hack.

"We managed to get two tickets for only €76 which I was delighted with.

"Luckily the app translates into English so it was very easy to use.

"We only used it for the main PortAventura park but we could have added on Ferrari Land for an extra €6 per person so it was very reasonable.”

Another user on the PortAventura Fans Facebook page commented that she managed to get four tickets for €130 instead of €200 while another advised that you must have a correct email address attached to the app but you can add this in the English version.

And it’s not just Spanish version that can save you mucho money,
downloading the app in French can also lead to savings.

In November, the French version of the app was offering 10 per cent off tickets.

And it’s not just PortAventura where you can save with your
supermarket.

The Danish and Swedish setting of the Lidl Plus app offered 2for1 Legoland Denmark tickets which could save almost £100 based on a family of four.
