Flying with a baby isn't always the easiest of journeys.
After all, at least with older children there are easy ways to keep them distracted , but with a baby it can be difficult to keep them settled.
Add in a lack of sleep and you could be facing a crying baby, which add on more stress – but the good news is that there are ways to get them to settle down.
Emily Jones is a member of Emirates cabin crew, so she knows a thing or two about helping parents getting their babies and toddlers to fall asleep during a flight.
Now she's shared one of her top tips, and and it's surprisingly simple.
She advises: "Try to create a comfortable sleep environment by using eye shades for children and covering any light sources for babies (e.g. put a blanket over the handset lights).
"Take advantage of when the cabin crew turn the lights down for sleeping as this is the optimal time for a nap as there are less distractions."
Oh, and don't forget about their seatbelts as Emily points out if these are on, cabin crew won't need to disturb you/your sleeping child.
Going long-haul? Emily suggests thinking about the time difference and factoring it into your choice of flight time.
She says: "Before you start have a think about the length of your flight and changing of time zones, as well as how long you will stay at your destination to schedule naps where needed.
"If possible, try to keep children on as close to their usual sleeping times as you can, as if they need to adjust to a new time zone it is better to make that adjustment once you have reached your destination."
