Disneyland Paris launches free digital advent calendar – with daily activities to keep the kids entertained

DISNEYLAND Paris is trying its hardest to keep the Christmas spirit alive, despite being forced to cancel its annual festivities due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The theme park has launched a free digital advent calendar for Disney fans unable to get their fix this December.

From 1 – 24 of this month, the calendar will offer daily activities, hosted by its famous characters including Mickey Mouse, as well as a range of celebrities.

One of several arts and crafts, colouring pages, Christmas recipes, videos and shows will pop up when a door is opened each day on the website Disneyland Paris at Home.

Last week, we reported that Disneyland Paris has had to cancel its plans for a Christmas reopening, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The theme park will now stay closed until February 12, 2021.

Customers with bookings between now and February are asked to visit the Disneyland Paris website, to rebook their trip.

Disneyland Paris closed its doors on October 29 due to Covid for the second time this year.

France started easing its lockdown measures last weekend so that by Christmas, shops, theatres and cinemas will reopen and people will be able to spend the holiday with their families, President Emmanuel Macron said.

In a televised address to the nation, Macron said the worst of the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic in France was over.

However, restaurants, cafes and bars would have to stay shut until January 20, to avoid triggering a third wave.

Guests returning to Disneyland Paris next year can expect to see a couple of changes, as Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel is slated to open, along with the new Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure ride.

The new Marvel attractions are part of the Avengers Campus which will let guests follow their favourite superheroes and aid them along the way.
