We just got some major UK holidays inspiration thanks to TripAdvisor !
That's because the travel gurus have unveiled the top 10 best UK destinations for 2019 as part of the website's annual Travellers' Choice Awards for Destinations .
London topped the list, in fact it was named the best destination in the world , thanks to its wide array of days out, iconic landmarks and restaurants.
It was closely followed by Scottish capital Edinburgh which is renowned for its breathtaking historic buildings and picturesque streets, while Liverpool took the third spot thanks to its vibrant nightlife and cultural hubs.
The winners were determined using an algorithm on reviews and ratings across hotels, restaurants and experiences over a 12-month period.
Here we take a look at the top 10 UK destinations and why they need to go on your travel list immediately…
1. London
It's no surprise that London has proven a hit with visitors.
After all, the English capital is home to iconic landmarks such as Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge… the list goes on and on.
Despite its reputation for being an expensive break, it is possible to visit London on a budget. There are plenty of cheap days out for families , while you can find budget-friendly hotels near the top attractions.
2. Edinburgh
If it's history and culture that you're after on a city break, then Edinburgh won't disappoint.
Whether you're exploring Edinburgh Castle, taking in the views from Arthur's Seat or simply wandering through the picturesque cobbled streets, there's heaps to see and do.

5. Belfast

Then of course TV fans can keep an eye out for Game of Thrones filming locations hidden around the region – there are plenty of tours you can take if you do want to go on an adventure through sites from the Seven Kingdoms.
6. Bath
Bath is tipped to be one of the UK's best romantic destinations , and it's not difficult to see why.
The city is famed for its iconic Roman Baths and breathtaking architecture (in fact, as a result the city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site), as well as the luxurious hotels and cosy pubs and restaurants to be found.
Meanwhile, it also draws in Jane Austen fans and serves as the location for the annual festival celebrating the world-famous author.

For a step back in time, take a stroll through The Shambles, a historic street filled with charming boutiques (although be warned that during peak seasons it can get quite busy!).
9. Manchester
Whether you're planning a weekend to explore museums and galleries, or fancy going away somewhere for a really good night out, Manchester delivers.
The city is famed for its vibrant neighbourhoods, bustling bars and wide range of restaurants, so you won't be stuck trying to find somewhere to eat or party.
