The messaging app is working on an update that will allow you to message a date, without getting their number.
The update will allow you to share your contact details with someone, simply by showing a QR code.
WABetaInfo spotted the feature in the code for future versions of WhatsApp.

It wrote: “When you want to add a new contact in WhatsApp, you can choose to add it using a WhatsApp QR Code.
“When the QR code is detected, WhatsApp will automatically fill all fields and the contact will be added in your address book.”
It is unclear when WhatsApp plans to implement the new feature.
