Social media has been buzzing after the release of Taylor Swift's new album Midnights, so it's no surprise that the singer's music has inspired a new TikTok trend.
People have taken a special shine to her song Mastermind, with lyrics in which Swift talks about getting into a relationship "by design," while making it look like an accident or coincidence.

Many of us can relate to the relationship troubles that form the central theme of most of Taylor Swift's music.
Several TikTokers have found the lyrics of her new song Mastermind, which references designing a relationship or meet-cute, very relatable.
Users have taken the lyrics and related it to their own instances of "boyfriend acquisition."
One TikToker claimed that she messaged her boyfriend with "20 book" recommendations after he sought them out on Instagram.

She revealed that she'd taken a deep dive into his posts and tried to "impress him" by recommending his favourites though she hadn't read the books she suggested.
She added: "I brought him a book to borrow because I knew it would guarantee a second date and keep me on his mind until thanksgiving break and now we’re married."
Another user claimed that she got her mum to hire her boyfriend as a math tutor in order to spend time with him, adding that they'd been together for three years.
A third user, whose post has gained over a million views, said she she found a band on Spotify, learned the words to their songs, and tagged them in her Instagram stories to secure a date.
She said: "I told him I didn’t really know anything about his music and now we’ve been dating for two years."

Many people on TikTok seem to be enjoying the trend, with some hoping to try their luck designing relationships with their favourite celebrities.
One person said: "I'm gonna do this w the 1975," with a second asking: "Can i do this with Hozier."
Meanwhile, some others aren't a big fan of the trend. One person posted that they"don't wanna have to play games to find love. "
Another commented: "I’m sensing some of these stories are dramatised for the trend.
A third user said: "I think these would be cute if the girls actually paid attention to the things the boys liked. Like if they actually read the books or listened to the music etc. This is just weird and lying IMO."
